What is the P-Value Calculator?

The P-Value Calculator is a statistical tool used to determine the probability of observing a test statistic as extreme as the one calculated from your sample data, under the null hypothesis. By entering two sets of sample values (X and Y), the calculator performs a two-sample t-test (Welch’s t-test for unequal variances) and computes the t-statistic, approximate degrees of freedom, and the corresponding two-tailed p-value. This helps determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between the two sample means.

How to Use:

  1. Enter Sample X Values: Input numeric values separated by commas.
  2. Enter Sample Y Values: Input numeric values separated by commas. Both samples should have at least 2 values.
  3. Click “Calculate”: The calculator computes the t-statistic, degrees of freedom, and p-value.
  4. Interpret Results: A smaller p-value (typically < 0.05) indicates a statistically significant difference between the two samples.
