The Daily Steps Goal Calculator gives a practical daily-step target by combining your weight and current activity. It estimates calories burned per step using the simple rule that walking burns about 1 kcal per kg per km, and uses ~1,312 steps/km to convert to kcal/step. For weight-loss goals it converts a weekly weight-loss target (1 kg ≈ 7,700 kcal) into extra steps per day required to produce that calorie deficit, then adds those extra steps to a baseline health target (7,000 steps/day) or to your current steps if higher.
