What is the Absorbance Calculator?
The Absorbance Calculator determines the absorbance of a sample by using the ratio of the incident light intensity (I₀) to the transmitted light intensity (I). Using the standard spectrophotometric formula A = log₁₀(I₀ / I), the calculator quickly computes how much light is absorbed by the sample. This tool helps students, laboratory workers, and researchers analyze sample transparency, monitor reaction progress, and understand the optical properties of solutions in a clear and efficient way.
How to Use:
- Enter Incident Light Intensity (I₀): Type the initial light intensity reaching the sample.
- Enter Transmitted Light Intensity (I): Input the intensity of light that passes through the sample.
- Click “Calculate”: The absorbance value is calculated using the logarithmic formula.
- Review the Result: Use the absorbance value to evaluate sample concentration, check spectrophotometer readings, or interpret laboratory results accurately.
