What is the Energy Calculator?

The Energy Calculator helps you determine the kinetic energy (KE), potential energy (PE), and total mechanical energy of an object based on its mass, velocity, height, and gravity. By entering the mass in kilograms, velocity in meters per second, height in meters, and gravity in m/s² (or leaving gravity at the default 9.8 m/s²), the calculator computes KE, PE, and total energy in joules (J). This tool is ideal for students, engineers, and physics enthusiasts who want a quick and accurate way to analyze energy in mechanical systems, making homework, experiments, and real-world calculations easier and more reliable.

How to Use:

  1. Enter Mass (m): Type the mass of the object in kilograms.
  2. Enter Velocity (v): Input the velocity of the object in meters per second (for kinetic energy).
  3. Enter Height (h): Type the height of the object in meters (for potential energy).
  4. Enter Gravity (g): Input the gravitational acceleration in m/s², or leave it at 9.8 m/s² for Earth.
  5. Click “Calculate”: The calculator will compute kinetic energy, potential energy, and total energy using the formulas KE=12mv2KE = \frac{1}{2} m v^2KE=21mv2 and PE=mghPE = m g hPE=mgh.
  6. Review the Result: The result box displays KE, PE, and total energy in joules (J). Use this information to analyze mechanical systems, solve physics problems, or verify experimental data.
